Northern Ireland youth defender signs new deal with Rangers

Northern Ireland youth international Kyle McClelland has signed a new deal with Rangers.

The club announced on Thursday that McClelland had put pen-to-paper on an extended deal.

The 18-year-old has agreed terms which will keep him at Ibrox until the summer of 2022.

The teenage centre-back has impressed in the underage teams at Rangers, and captained the club to glory in the Alkass Cup in Qatar last year.

Speaking to Rangers TV, McClelland said: "I am buzzing - over the moon.

"I have worked hard for it, and it will be good to get another two-and-a-half years here at this club and hopefully develop my game further and keep pushing.

"I want to keep pushing myself every day, in training, and hopefully get more opportunities in and around the first team and hopefully impress from there."
