Northern Ireland yellow weather warning issued by Met Office

A yellow weather warning has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland for Sunday.

The Met Office said winds may lead to some disruption in Coleraine, Ballycastle and surrounding areas.

The agency issued the warning for Sunday morning, July 5 at 12am to Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

It has told the public there is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs and a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.

There is a small chance that injuries could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.

Today will be a cloudy day, with some outbreaks of rain and a maximum temperature of 17C. Some of the rain will be on the heavy side, but much of the time light with a few drier interludes especially in the east.

Tonight it will stay cloudy with further rain or drizzle at times. It will be a mild night but becoming misty with hill fog with a minimum temperature of 12C.

Saturday will be another cloudy day with further rain or drizzle at times. There will be light to moderate winds and a maximum temperature 17C.

From Sunday to Tuesday, it will be a changeable few days with some rain or showers but also some bright or sunny spells.
