Northern Ireland weekend weather forecast with sunny spells and a high of 26C

The scorching weather in Northern Ireland is set to continue over the weekend with a high of 26C.

According to the weather forecast, Friday is full of sunny spells and very warm temperatures.

The Met Office said: "A rather cloudy start, particularly through Fermanagh, Tyrone and parts of the North Coast with some mist. Otherwise dry with bright and sunny spells developing and becoming very warm in any sunshine. Winds will be light. Maximum temperature 25C."

Later on in the evening, low cloud and some mist is possible around some coasts. The forecaster says low cloud and mist will become more extensive overnight with some fog patches and a minimum temperature of 12C.

And on Saturday, there will be a high of 26C, with the Met Office adding: " Low cloud and mist burning away during the morning with sunny periods and becoming very warm or hot in the south and east. Sea breezes keeping the north coast fresher."

From Sunday to Tuesday, the weather will be "staying mainly dry and settled", but a little drizzle is possible in the north early in the daytime.

Bright or sunny spells will be developing widely, staying very warm.
