Northern Ireland weather warning issued for snow

A yellow warning for snow and rain has been issued for Northern Ireland.

It comes into effect from midnight and is valid until noon on Monday.

The Met Office has said that sleet and snow is likely to lead to some travel disruption.

We can expect spray and flooding on roads, bus and train services to probably be affected with journey times taking longer and some interruption to power supplies.

For Monday, the Met Office added: "Rain, sleet and hill snow will clear through the morning although some patchy rain lingering in the northeast. Clearer weather with a few showers developing later. Cold. Maximum temperature 7°C."

Trafficwatch NI said: "Road salting on selective roads in counties Antrim, L/derry and parts of Tyrone will take place tonight and in the morning.

"Snowy conditions are expected across Northern Ireland in the early hours. Road Users are advised to exercise caution particularly on untreated roads."
