Northern Ireland weather warning issued for ice

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across Northern Ireland.

The warning will be valid between 9pm on Wednesday and 10am on Thursday.

For tonight, the Met Office said: "Turning cloudy in the early hours with scattered showers. Strong westerly winds. Minimum temperature -1C."

And for Wednesday, the forecast reads: "Blustery showers and fresh to strong westerly winds.

"More persistent rain later in the day, perhaps turning to snow in the evening."

The Met Office added that icy stretches may lead to some travel disruption from Wednesday evening through into Thursday morning.
