Northern Ireland weather warning issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms

A yellow weather warning has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland on Saturday.

The NI Weather and Flood Advisory Service says the warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms is in place from 2pm today, until 7pm.

A spokesperson also said there will be "a big drop in temperatures tomorrow."

"The rest of today will remain dry and sunny and feeling very warm," they said.

"However showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop in places, giving localised torrential downpours, with a slight risk of localised flooding. Thunder and lightning along with slight risk of hail.

"Heavy showers and thunderstorms can be localised, and it is difficult to pinpoint exact locations, not everywhere will get them, with some places staying dry."
