Northern Ireland weather warning issued by Met Office

A weather warning has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland for the next three days.

The Met Office says a yellow warning is in place from Tuesday January 12 until Thursday.

On Tuesday, a yellow warning is in place for ice from 3am through to 10am, which may cause some tricky travel conditions.

Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths is expected.

And the warning says there may be possible injuries and accidents due to the icy surfaces

A yellow rain warning has also been issued for Northern Ireland on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

The Met Office said: "Heavy rain is expected to affect Northern Ireland [on Wednesday and Thursday], bringing some transport disruption.

"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

"Where flooding occurs, there is a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

"Spray and flooding will lead to difficult driving conditions and perhaps some road closures.

"There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."
