Northern Ireland weather warning issued

A weather warning has been issued for Northern Ireland.

The yellow notice for wind comes into effect from 9am on Monday morning and is valid until midnight.

The Met Office said: "A spell of windy weather is expected Monday, bringing the risk of some disruption to transport and travel."

They added that it is likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves, some short term loss of power and other services is possible and delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.

And what about the general outlook for Monday to Wednesday?

The Met Office added: "Rain, with snow for a time, extending north early Monday, then windy with showers. Cold with occasional showers on Tuesday and Wednesday, wintry on hills."

Trafficwatch NI has also stated that "precautionary high ground salting is due to take place this evening".
