The Met Office has issued a warning for parts of Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
Forecasters have issued a yellow alert with 'very strong winds' expected to hit parts of Co Down and Co Antrim .
The Met Office has warned of "strong southwest winds with coastal gales."
A spokesperson added: "Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, for much of the day, clearing to showers shortly before dusk."
The warning comes into effect at 5am on Tuesday and is valid until 5pm.
What to expect
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer, made worse by spray and surface water
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
Turning to the week ahead, it is expected to be wet and windy, with highs of 13C and lows of 1C.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Strong westerly winds and scattered showers on Wednesday.
"Outbreaks of rain for a time on Thursday with lighter winds. Winds continuing to ease on Friday, a few showers."
