Northern Ireland weather forecasts for temperatures to plummet to MINUS 4

Temperatures are set to plummet to -4C in parts of Northern Ireland tonight.

The Met Office has warned of a 'scattered showers' in some areas, with salting due to take place.

But despite the blustery weather large parts of the country are expected to remain dry.

The Met Office has warned that places across the country will experience a minimum temperature -4C and a "dry evening and start to the night with largely clear skies".

For tonight, Met Office said: "A dry evening and start to the night with largely clear skies. Cloud will increase from the north after midnight, bringing a scattering of showers southwards later in the night. Minimum temperature -2 °C."
