Northern Ireland weather forecast with scorching hot temperatures up to 29C this week

Summer has finally arrived in Northern Ireland, and we simply can't seem to get enough of it.

It was all smiles over the weekend as families and friends headed to beaches to enjoy the incredible weather.

And we could be in for another very hot week according to Met Office, with highs of 29C forecast in some areas.

We can expect it to be cloudy in the north early on Monday, but it will then be a dry day in all areas, with long spells of unbroken sunshine, according to the forecaster.

It will be "locally hot", the weather service said, with highs of 28C, but somewhat cooler along the North Coast.

Low cloud or mist is expected in parts on Tuesday. But this should burn off and leave us with a fine, dry and sunny remainder of the day. It is likely to be a great day, with even hotter highs of 29C, though there will be some cooling sea breezes for beach-goers.

Those struggling in the heatwave will be pleased to hear that temperatures are forecast to cool down as we head into the weekend. In Belfast, for example, highs of 24C on Friday, 21C on Saturday and 22C on Sunday are expected.

But we can still expect to see "sunny intervals" across these days, so make sure to have that factor 50 at the ready.

Isolated showers are also possible - so perhaps a brolly too.
