Northern Ireland weather forecast on Sunday as temperatures drop

We've all noticed a big change in the weather lately - and not for the better.

The Met Office says Sunday will be a dry but cold day but mostly sunny with some fog patches slow to clear in the morning.

Cloud will spill into the east in the afternoon, perhaps giving a few light showers along the southeast coast, they added.

Maximum temperatures for the first half of the day will be 5C.

And for Sunday evening, a Met Office spokesperson said: "A largely dry evening and night [on Sunday]. Rather cloudy, but some clear spells are likely leading to a patchy frost. Light easterly winds and minimum temperatures of -2C."

Looking at the week ahead, Monday will be a cold and mostly dry day with good spells of sunshine.

"A few isolated light showers are possible, mainly across the southeast," the Met Office adds.

"Light east or northeast winds. Maximum temperature 5C.

"Cold and mostly dry Tuesday and much of Wednesday, just a few light showers possible. Rain, sleet and snow spread southeast Wednesday night, clearing to wintery showers on Thursday."
