Northern Ireland weather forecast for week ahead as concerts to take place

While the week ahead sees plenty of outdoor concerts at Féile an Phobail and CHSq, now would be the time to prepare some waterproofs.

The Met Office says Wednesday will start of cloudy with a "band of rain" moving eastwards across all parts and falling heavy for a short time.

Brighter weather will follow for this afternoon with some sunshine and a few well scattered light showers too. Maximum temperatures will reach 20C.

"A fine end to the day and staying dry overnight with well broken cloud, clear skies at times," a Met Office spokesperson added.

"Winds will be mostly light. Minimum temperature 9C. Thursday will start dry and bright with sunny spells.

"A scattering of heavy showers developing in the afternoon with strengthening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 19C."

Looking ahead to the weekend, there is chance of rain across Northern Ireland.

Bright spells and scattered showers are forecast for Friday with "fresh to strong southwest winds".

The Met Office added: "Mainly dry and bright on Saturday with sunny spells. Winds also easing. Rain possible on Sunday."
