Northern Ireland weather forecast for the weekend

The Met Office has predicted an unsettled weekend weather forecast for Northern Ireland.

The next few days are set to bring us some heavy showers with some dry spells throughout.

On Saturday morning, the day is set to start off bright with some rain in the evening.

The Met Office said: "Much of the day will be dry and bright, feeling reasonably warm. Strengthening southerly winds will bring rain from the west during the evening. Maximum temperature 20 °C."

And the Met Office has warned that the wet weather is here to stay for Sunday and for early next week.

The day will start off with rain, becoming more persistent by late morning and throughout lunch time.

There could also be misery for allergy sufferers, with pollen set to be high in the coming days across the country.

"Unsettled on Sunday with some heavy showers. Remaining unsettled early next week with rain at times," the Met Office added.

"A fine, very warm spell is likely next week across many central and eastern areas and it will probably turn hot in places.

"Meanwhile northwestern parts will probably stay more unsettled with some rain and temperatures nearer to normal."
