Northern Ireland weather forecast for the weekend

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Northern Ireland this weekend.

The agency said a yellow warning for rain is in place from Saturday morning at 9am until 10pm on Saturday night.

They expect "heavy showers and rain that may lead to flooding here and there".

What to expect

  • Bus and train services perhaps affected, with longer journey times possible
  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making car journey times longer
  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible

On Sunday, expect "some drier and sunny interludes" with rain mainly in the northwest.

The Met Office has also published its outlook for Tuesday and Thursday, predicting: "Breezy conditions continuing, particularly for the north. Temperatures should mostly be around average for the time of year."
