Northern Ireland weather forecast for the week ahead

After the stormy weekend, there can be no doubt that winter is coming.

Storm Arwen swept across the UK, with devastating consequence, including the death of a primary school principal after a tree fell on his car in County Antrim.

Although Northern Ireland managed to escape a lot of the snow that has covered other parts of the UK, many will be hoping for a calmer week this week.

But, luckily there will be higher temperatures and a more settled week ahead.

The Met Office says:

Today, Monday November 29, will be a cloudy and dull day with some patchy light rain and drizzle, the best of any drier spells through Fermanagh. Milder than of late and winds freshening at times. Maximum temperature 10C.

Tonight it will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Much of this will be light and patchy with some drier spells. A mild and frost free night. Breezy. Minimum temperature 7C.

Tomorrow, Tuesday November 30, will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent at times. Some drier and clearer spells in the evening with a scattering of heavy showers. Windy. Maximum temperature 10C.

The beginning of December towards the end of the week will be bright and windy with showers on Wednesday, these turning wintry.

Mainly bright and chilly on Thursday, but rain and sleet later. Bright with showers on Friday.
