Northern Ireland weather forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

With another day to go until it's officially Christmas, the Met Office has forecast what kind of weather we can expect in Northern Ireland on December 25.

Sadly, the bad news is we won't have a white Christmas this year, according to forecasters - as it stands.

The last time Northern Ireland had snow on Christmas Day was back in 2010.

Still, Christmas is set to be a chilly one - so here’s hoping Santa has his thermals on!

The Met Office say come Friday, December 25, we're likely to see a largely cloudy with rain predicted and the temperature expected to peak at 7C.

Meanwhile, on Christmas Eve, it's to be bitterly cold with overnight showers dying out soon after dawn to leave a dry bright day with some sunny spells.

The forecast for Saturday and Sunday reads: "Boxing Day (Saturday) will see a return to unsettled weather with outbreaks of rain and showers in the northwest gradually spreading southwards accompanied by strong winds.

"It is expected to stay unsettled for the rest of the weekend and in the run up to New Year.

"Outbreaks of rain, heavy showers and strong winds are likely, and there is an increased chance of snow down to lower levels in places."

We’ll bring you an updated forecast on Christmas morning, for anyone travelling to join their one-day bubble - so stay tuned for more weather info.
