Northern Ireland weather forecast boost as sunshine to come and rain to stay away until Sunday

It may feel like the temperature has dropped in recent days, but don't fret as the sun is making a return.

Barra Best had some good weather news this afternoon as he revealed the rain is set to stay away until Sunday with sunshine forecast .

According to the Met Office we are in line for a settled week with warmer temperatures, so don't pull out the winter wardrobe just yet.

A forecaster for the Met Office said Tuesday will be "dry and bright with some sunny spells" with a maximum temperature of 17C.

"After a chilly start becoming pleasant by the afternoon with winds light," the Met Office said.

The outlook for Wednesday to Friday is: "Mainly dry and settled. Cloud amounts will vary, but often bright with some sunny spells at times. Temperatures picking up and feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Winds mostly light."

Saturday is also looking dry and warmer at the moment with the weather breaking on Sunday as cooler, wet and windy spells are likely to spread east, bringing a period of rather changeable weather into the following week.
