Northern Ireland weather forecast as temperatures to plummet to minus 2

Temperatures are set to plummet to -2C in parts of Northern Ireland tonight.

The Met Office has warned of a 'widespread frost' in some areas, with salting due to take place.

TrafficWatch NI urged road users to "exercise caution" during their commutes.

The Met Office has warned that places across the country will experience a minimum temperature of -2C with a risk of "freezing fog patches" throughout Wednesday night.

And for Thursday, the Met Office said: "A frosty start for many. Further bright or sunny spells, but significantly less than Wednesday, with some scattered showers appearing."
