Northern Ireland weather forecast after a week of rain, hail and snow

Temperatures across Northern Ireland are set to get warmer from Monday after an unsettled week last week.

Multiple weather warnings for ice, rain, wind and snow were issued at the beginning of last week however the Met Office is now predicting more pleasant days ahead.

They say that after a notably cold and snowy spell, milder conditions are on the horizon.

After a few showers in the morning, Monday will have a much brighter afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Rather cloudy this morning with scattered showers, then mainly dry this afternoon with some sunshine. It will be another mild day with fresh southerly winds. Maximum temperature 11C.

"Cloudy with outbreaks of rain becoming drier and clearer later tonight. It will be another mild night and also windy with strong southerly winds. Minimum temperature 7C.

"[And on Tuesday] A mainly dry and bright day with some sunshine and a few light showers. Staying mild with fresh southwesterly winds, strong towards the North Coast. Maximum temperature 10C".

Wednesday to Friday will bring "an unsettled few days with showers or even some longer spells of heavy rain. It will be windy at times and staying mild".
