Temperatures could soar to 25C in Northern Ireland today with plenty of sunshine forecast for the weekend ahead.

The Met Office is forecasting a dry and bright day today with long sunny spells.

We can expect a fine end to the day, staying dry overnight with mostly clear skies. A few shallow mist and fog patches could appear around dawn, with a minimum of 11C.

It'll be dry, bright with sunny spells on Friday, feeling very warm in the west but cooler towards the Irish Sea coast with freshening southeasterly winds and a top temperature of 24C.

The weekend will be dry and very warm with good spells of sunshine.

June will kick off mostly dry and sunny with a chance of rain and showers in northern and western parts as the month goes on.

A very warm start will give way to more normal temperatures in the middle and a shift to changeable weather with an increased chance of showers or longer spells of rain across all parts.
