The Irish Football Association has confirmed that Northern Ireland will travel to face Luxembourg in an international friendly on Friday, March 25.
The fixture is part of two friendlies to be played that month as Ian Baraclough and his players prepare for the start of the Nations League campaign in June.
The game with Luxembourg will be staged at Stade de Luxembourg in Luxembourg City, with the kick-off time yet to be confirmed.
Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough said: “This will be a welcome test for the team and a good way to kick off our year.
“We know this Luxembourg side can cause problems and we will be preparing thoroughly to make sure we’re at our very best.”
Northern Ireland last visited Luxembourg in 2013 when a team managed by Michael O’Neill fell to an embarrassing 3-2 World Cup qualifying defeat.
O’Neill later admitted that he considered his future as manager after that loss, but turned things around and went on to lead the Green and White Army to the Euro 2016 finals in France.
Like Northern Ireland, Luxembourg will use the March friendly as preparation for competing in the Nations League which is played in the summer and autumn.
Northern Ireland are top seeds in Group 2 in League C of the 2022-23 edition of the competition, with the campaign kicking off against Greece in Belfast on June 2.
Luxembourg finished fourth in their recent World Cup group behind Serbia, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland who suffered a shock 1-0 loss to The Red Lions in Dublin.
The Irish FA has said Northern Ireland’s other friendly in March will be confirmed “soon”.
