Northern Ireland teen Eoin Teggart earns third year scholarship with Portsmouth

Portsmouth have offered Northen Ireland teenager Eoin Teggart a third year scholarship.

Teggart joined the EFL League One side from Cliftonville in September 2018 and has continued to impress at the Fratton Park club.

The 18-year-old was also part of the County Down side that reached the SuperCupNI Premier final in 2018.

He has also played for Portsmouth Under 23's and made his first team debut against Norwich City Under 21's in the Leasing.com Trophy.

Portsmouth reached the final but due to football being suspended are yet to meet Salford City in the Wembley decider.

Harry Kavanagh and Alfie Stanley have also been offered the scholarship with the South Coast club.

Academy manager Mark Kelly said: “They all deserve this opportunity, but have to get their heads down and be ready to go again.

“When football does resume for us, they’ll have to work extremely hard to get in and around Kenny Jackett’s squad. It’s a real challenge and they have to be ready to go.

“Alfie has scored a lot of goals this season, while Harry settled down in his loan spell at Bognor and produced good performance levels.

“Eoin made his debut for the first team in the Leasing.com Trophy and has got plenty of pace and crossing ability – now he just needs to hone in on a few things.”
