Northern Ireland teen enjoys first-team action for Wolves in pre-season game

Northern Ireland teenager Jack Scott has been making an early impression on new Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Bruno Lage.

Scott - who has been at Wolves since 2019 - came on as a second half substitute in Saturday's 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

It was a positive run-out for the 18-year-old at Gresty Road, who was one of a number of Under 23 youngsters to earn some game time in the summer friendly.

Christopher Long struck the only goal of the game just after half-time as Wolves won their first pre-season fixture.

The game also saw the return of Raul Jimenez who played 33 minutes following his recovery from injury.

New signing Francisco Trincao also made his debut.

Lage made mass changes at half-time, including the introduction of young defender Scott, with goalkeeper John Ruddy the only player in the starting XI who finished the match for Wolves.

Birmingham Live were impressed by Scott's second-half performance, saying: "Did well to create a chance for Dadashov but the effort was blocked by a Crewe defender."

Wolves will now head to Spain to continue their pre-season, with games lined up against Real Betis (July 24) and Las Palmas (July 26).
