Northern Ireland team news confirmed for Norway clash

Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough has named his starting XI to face Norway tonight.

The new international boss has made three changes to the side that started against Romania last Friday night.

Northern Ireland drew 1-1 in Bucharest in their opening Nations League game three days ago.

Tonight they welcome a Norwegian squad boasting the star quality of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Baraclough will be looking to earn some home reward as he prepares for his first game at Windsor Park since succeeding Michael O'Neill in the managerial hot-seat.

The three changes see Michael Smith, Shane Ferguson and Jordan Thompson come into the starting line-up.

Out go Corry Evans, Jamal Lewis and the suspended Josh Magennis who was sent off against Romania.

Steven Davis captains the side to earn his 119th cap and draw level with Pat Jennings' record.

Arsenal youngster Daniel Ballard retains his place in the side while Jonny Evans hasn't been included in the squad.

Evans missed Friday's game in Bucharest due to personal reasons but was expected to return against Norway.

Meanwhile, Friday's goalscorer Gavin Whyte starts on the bench alongside Under 21 youngsters Ethan Galbraith and Alfie McCalmont.
