Northern Ireland lockdown: Changes and dates Executive expected to announce

Northern Ireland's Executive is understood to have agreed a number of changes to coronavirus restrictions as we continue to move out of lockdown.

Following a lengthy review meeting today, Executive ministers are believed to have agreed changes that will be given the green light at their meeting next week.

It is being reported that on May 21, 1,000 spectators will be permitted at the Irish Cup final and from May 24, the stay local message will be removed.

UTV Political Editor Tracey Magee is reporting that from May 24, indoor hospitality will reopen with six people from any household allowed to mix, with mitigations

It is also understood that restrictions for libraries and museums will lift from this date and schools extracurricular activities can resume.

Outdoor sport with 500 spectators are understood to be on the cards from May 24, along with indoor sports training for squads.

In regards to travel, it is believed the Executive has agreed to lift the quarantine requirement for visits from GB and Ireland. The international travel list still to be decided, but at this stage it is hoped Northern Ireland will adopt a similar traffic light system to England.
