Northern Ireland green list: Latest countries added and where you can fly to from Belfast airports

Northern Ireland’s green list for international travel has been updated.

The traffic light system for international travel means that holidaymakers travelling to certain countries in Europe and beyond will be able to go without having to self-isolate.

This system categorises countries based on the level of coronavirus risk they pose. There are green, amber, and red lists.

Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Haiti, Mongolia, Tunisia and Uganda will also be added to the Red list from 4am on Wednesday, June 30.

No changes were made to Northern Ireland’s amber list at the latest Stormont Executive review on June 24.

The status of international countries is reviewed every three weeks. However, changes may be made at any time if circumstances require them.

Which green list countries can you travel to from Belfast airports?

Flights between Belfast International Airport and all three of the Spanish Balearic Islands will resume on July 1.

Services to Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza will operate up to 14 times a week with Jet2.com, easyJet and TUI operating direct flights to these popular destinations.

Graham Keddie, Managing Director of Belfast International Airport has welcomed the latest update to the green list.

He said: “It is great to know that local holidaymakers can now head off for a well-earned summer break safe in the knowledge that they won’t have to quarantine on their return.

“We look forward to welcoming back more passengers safely and can reassure them that we and our airlines are well prepared with a range of social distancing, hygiene and testing provisions in place throughout the airport.”

Jet 2 boss Steve Heapy said: “UK holidaymakers have looked on with envy as other countries across Europe have opened up.

“It is finally their turn to get away on their precious holidays to the sunshine and we could not be more excited about taking them away.”
