Northern Ireland footballer reveals 'first lockdown haircut' as fans share their own efforts

It was a case of short back and splitting sides after Northern Ireland footballer Ryan McLaughlin revealed his hilarious lockdown haircut.

The 26-year-old defender doesn't mind poking fun at himself, and he did just that by sharing a photograph of the first trim he got during lockdown last year.

With barbers shut amid the coronavirus pandemic, many people bought out the clippers and scissors and attempted their own haircuts at home.

McLaughlin posted a photo at his first lockdown cut, and asked fans to share their own attempts.

He said on Twitter: "Came across a photo of my first lockdown trim. Send your photos in of the worst trim you got start of lockdown. Mine is going to be tough to beat."

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Trevor Carson was one of the first to reply, with a photo of his own lockdown style:

Other fans also shared photos, including this one:

All we can say is thank goodness the barbers are finally open again.
