Northern Ireland football star's bizarre sleeping habits laid bare by former teammate

Republic of Ireland star Matt Doherty ensured George Saville was the butt of the joke after offering the naked truth about his former Wolves team mate on BBC’s Football Focus.

The two remain close mates from their time together at Molineux and have kept in contact after Saville left the West Midlands club for Millwall in 2017.

But that didn’t stop Doherty throwing the Northern Ireland and Middlesbrough midfielder under the proverbial bus when he was asked to recall the “weirdest thing a team mate has done at your house”.

In an Honest Cards Q&A on Saturday’s Football Focus, the Wolves right back replied: “Sav was in my house recently and I don’t know if I can say this, but he sleeps naked.

“He was in the spare room (sleeping) but my sister was also in the house and she didn’t know he was in there.

“He was obviously laying on top of the covers asleep and she walks into the room! That’s probably the weirdest thing - to get caught lying naked on top of the bed.”

As if being exposed as a nude snoozer on the Beeb wasn’t bad enough, Saville’s Saturday got even starker when he was sent off 32 minutes into Boro’s 2-0 defeat at Derby County.

So much to bare on so many fronts.
