Northern Ireland fans pick out best and worst moments following team

Northern Ireland football fans travel the world to watch their team.

There have been some incredible highs and horrible lows for the Green and White Army to celebrate and endure down through the years.

As the UEFA Nations League kicks off we decided to pitch some quick-fire questions to Hugh Smy from Londonderry.

We find out his most memorable game, and an away trip he'd rather forget.

We also find out who his favourite players are and what he thinks of the new manager.

We kicked off the series recently with none other than Gary McAllister, the chairman of the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs.

Let's find out some of Hugh's best and worst memories...

1. Most memorable game?

Beating Israel in Belfast to qualify for Spain 82. What a night!

2. Most disappointing result?

Switzerland in the 2018 World Cup play-off in Belfast. Never a penalty.

3. Favourite away trip?

Has to be the Euros. We were never leaving France before the team. We lived the dream.

4. Worst away trip?

Probably Austria simply because I've loved all the others.

5. Favourite player of all time?

George Best but Alan McDonald comes in right behind him.

6. Favourite current player?

Jonny Evans. Another Rolls Royce player.

7. Thoughts on the new international manager...

Give us something to dream about Ian and we'll give you 100% support from the stands.
