Northern Ireland defender Conor Bradley says coming on against Swiss was 'stuff of dreams'

Northern Ireland youngster Conor Bradley admitted coming on as a second half substitute against Switzerland was the 'stuff of dreams'.

The Liverpool defender was thrown into the cauldron of a World Cup qualifier after replacing Michael Smith in the 68th minute.

Northern Ireland went on to earn a spirited 0-0 draw, with Bradley savouring every moment at Windsor Park.

"I am just absolutely buzzing. To get the atmosphere when I came, and I felt like I did well. It is the stuff of dreams, really,"Bradley told Sky Sports.

"The manager just told me do what I usually do and have no fear of what you're going into.

"He just gave me loads of confidence to go out and do what I can do, and I really enjoyed it.

"I am thankful to Ian for giving me the chance.

"I just prepared for it like it was any other game, whether it is a friendly or whatever. I just always get ready for the game, no matter what it is."

Bradley endeared himself to the 16,000 fans inside Windsor with a full-blooded tackle shortly after his arrival on the pitch.

He admits the roar of the Green and White Army has whetted his appetite for more.

"I gave away the ball a bit before, and I wanted to win it back," he said.

"So I put in a big tackle and got a cheer from the crowd. It was an unreal moment.

"Hearing that roar just excites me for more."

Bradley is a regular in Liverpool’s U23 set-up and featured for Jurgen Klopp’s first team in pre-season., and Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough is another fan of the Co Tyrone 18-year-old.

The teenager made his international debut in a 3-0 friendly win over Malta in Austria at the end of May and also featured in Sunday's friendly win over Estonia in Tallinn.

"There's quite a ew young players, and that helps. Ian brings in the youth and it is great for us young players," Bradley added.

"We just have to try and get picked for future squads."
