Northern Ireland coronavirus cases broken down by council area and age

The number of fatalities in Northern Ireland due to Coronavirus has risen to 501 today.

The latest report from the Department of Health on Thursday indicates that seven more people have lost their lives to the virus.

Of those seven people, five were aged 80 and over while the other two people were aged 60-79.

Those deaths were reported in: Belfast (2), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (1), Lisburn and Castlereagh (1), Causeway Coast and Glens (1), Newry, Mourne and Down (1) and Mid Ulster (1).

Currently there are 618 inpatients at 19 hospital sites across Northern Ireland- a decrease of 51 patients since yesterday.

There are 13 people in ICU here with confirmed or suspected Coronavirus.

According to the latest report a further 42 people have tested positive in the last 24 hours and a further 1,084 people have also been tested for the virus.

743 samples have also been taken from National Testing Centre sites for lab examination.

The 42 latest positive cases here have been recorded in: Ards and North Down (10), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (6), Belfast (4), Causeway Coast and Glens (3), Fermanagh and Omagh (1), Lisburn and Castlereagh (4), Mid and East Antrim (1), Mid Ulster (4), Newry, Mourne and Down (7) and two were recorded as Not Known.

At present, Northern Ireland has recorded a total of 4,481 cases of Covid-19.
