Litter is often cited as one of the public's biggest bugbears when it comes to the environment in local communities.
But up and down the country, locals and community groups are doing their bit to help keep their areas looking beautiful.
A number of beach clean teams and litter picking groups are even supported by Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful and the Live Here Love Here team.
This January a number of those groups are on the hunt for volunteers to help keep their areas clean so if you would like to get some fresh air while cleaning up your town, we've put together a list of groups who need your help.
