Northern Ireland announce a further 18 deaths from coronavirus with over 100 more cases

A further 18 people have sadly died in Northern Ireland due to Coronavirus bringing the total number of deaths here to 158.

The latest figures from the Public Health Agency also show a rise in positive cases of 113.

A total 2,201 people are confirmed to have the virus in Northern Ireland as of today - Belfast Live reports.

Meanwhile, 14,240 people have now been tested for the virus across the country.

The latest Republic of Ireland figures announcement is taking place at a slightly later time and will begin at 6:30pm this evening.

38 more deaths and 1,068 more cases were announced on Wednesday evening with now more than 400 people having died from the virus in the Republic and over 12,000 cases.

The briefing is streamed live on both RTE and Virgin Media every single evening - although not on their main channels.

RTE News Now will show the briefing live while Virgin Media air the announcement in full on their Twitter account, as do RTE.
