Northern Ireland 1 Norway 5: Erling Haaland double helps visitors to comfortable win

Erling Haaland proved his class as Norway ruined Ian Baraclough's home debut tonight.

Haaland scored in either half as Northern Ireland slumped to a heavy 5-1 Nations League defeat in Belfast.

It was a painful lesson for Baraclough and his players as the clinical visitors eased to their victory.

Mohamed Elyounoussi broke the deadlock in the second minute, but the hosts responded almost immediately with Paddy McNair tapping home from close range four minutes later.

That's as good as it got for Northern Ireland.

Haaland volleyed home a spectacular goal in the seventh minute and then Alexander Sørloth made it 3-1 in the 19th minute.

Sørloth doubled his own tally when he made it 4-1 just 65 seconds after the restart, and then Haaland bagged his brace with a runaway goal in the 58th minute.
