2019 Northern Illinois Huskies Football Schedule Analysis
– Just how good are the Huskies? They’ll get a shot to show off right away under new head coach Thomas Hammock, with road games at Utah, Nebraska and Vanderbilt after what should be a season-opening win over Illinois State. If NIU can go into November 2-2 – at least – there will be plenty of reason to get fired up.
– The key West showdown against Toledo is on the road, and it comes at the end of a brutal run of four road games in five dates. At least the Western Michigan game is at home, and so is the Eastern Michigan battle. The Huskies don’t leave DeKalb after the Toledo game on November 13th.
– The Huskies miss Buffalo from the East, but they have to go to Ohio and Miami University in back-to-back weeks. Playing Akron at home to follow helps, but it’s still a rough run of interdivisional games.
