Northern Illinois FB Clint Ratkovich goes 96 yards for a touchdown

Clint Ratkovich describes himself as a “6-1, 230-pound superback on his Twitter bio.” After a play against Western Michigan in MACtion on Tuesday, who is to argue with the Northern Illinois fullback.

Watch as Ratkovich takes the handoff on the fullback dive, looking to simply gain some ground in the second quarter and get the Huskies out of a hole.

Ratkovich did far more than that. He was off on a 96-yard touchdown run, the second-longest in school history.

The school-record run happened in 1934. Reino Nori went 99 yards against Wisconsin-Whitewater on Nov. 17 of that year,

The Northern Illinois media guide says Nori still ranks No. 4 in career touchdowns (31 in 1932-35), No. 7 in single-season scoring (101 points in 1935), No. 5 in career scoring (204), and No. 8 in season TDs (15 in 1935). As a senior, he ranked second in the nation in scoring.
