CBS is currently developing a reboot of its 1990s series Northern Exposure.
The Hollywood Reporter states original star Rob Morrow and creators Joshua Brand and John Falsey are attached to the project, which is set to continue the original show's storyline.
It would see Morrow's Dr Joel Fleischman return to Cicely, Alaska, for the funeral of an old friend, reuniting with former neighbours while being introduced to new characters.
Rumours of a reboot have been floating around for several years, with Darren E Burrows, who played Ed Chigliak on the series, attempting to crowdfund new episodes.
Northern Exposure ran from 1990 to 1995 and won seven Emmys, including one for Best Drama Series. It follows Fleischman, freshly graduated from Columbia University, as he is assigned to work in the tiny Alaskan town of Cicely. Although he craves a return to New York, the local charm slowly starts to win him over.
