The northbound carriageway of the A1 in Lincolnshire has been closed after a crash involving two lorries.
It has been shut between the A151 for Colsterworth and B1174 for Little Ponton.
Motorists are diverting and Lincolnshire Police and Highways England traffic officers are at the scene.
Highways England tweeted to ask motorists to consider alternative routes.
Meanwhile, the northbound carriageway has also been closed between the A52 for Barrowby and B6326 for Fernwood after a lorry overturned at around 3.30am.
Highways England reported around three miles of slow moving traffic on the approach to the Barrowby junction, with motorists diverted.
