North West Operational Fire and Rescue headquarters bought for £20m

North West Operational Fire and Rescue headquarters has been bought for £19.5m, global real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield has announced.

The 25,000 sq ft facility at Lingley Mere Business Park, Warrington was built in 2009 and is home to the fire authorities of Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria, where they handle 999 emergency calls and mobilise fire fighters.

The control centre opened in 2014 - 10 years after it was announced.

Fire Control North West has a lease running until June 2033.

The headquarters was purchased by private clients of Deutsche Bank at a net yield of around 7.3 per cent, Cushman & Wakefield said.

Craig Barton, who represented the vendor, said: “We are delighted to conclude this disposal on behalf of our client.

“The process was highly competitive, as there is strong appetite for quality buildings with long-term income, to good tenants.

“It is also another a reflection of the strength of Warrington, both as a destination which occupiers desire, and which investors want to secure real estate within.”
