HUBBALLI: After a gap of three months, North-West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC, Huballi division) resumed its bus service to Goa on Friday.
NWKRTC has taken necessary precautions to ensure the safety of passengers travelling to Goa as per Covid protocol.
H Ramangoudar, divisional controller, told TOI that as per the Goa government notification, passengers travelling to Goa should carry a Covid negative report given by the health department 72 hours prior to their journey.
“Many people from Hubballi-Dharwad and surrounding districts travel to Goa for work. But most of them find it difficult to get the test done. Shelling out Rs 270 for a Covid test is difficult for many poor families. If a passenger tests positive for Covid, they will be denied entry to Goa,” he said.
“Considering the financial problems faced by many poor people travelling to Goa, we will conduct a free Covid test for all such passengers at Gokul bus terminal here,” he added.
