Glenn Irwin has thrown his participation in doubt at Saturday's North West 200.
Racing was delayed after persistent rain and then a red flag incident in the opening Supersport race .
A rider came off at Black Hill but thankfully wasn't seriously injured.
The opening race didn't start until after 11am after riders had been given three sighting laps to survey the wet conditions.
The leaders had only finished their opening lap of the race when it was stopped.
Three-time North West 200 winner Irwin is due to start from pole position in the two Superbike races, he also has rides in the Supersport, Superstock and Supertwins.
But he has said he won’t compete unless conditions improve.
He has definitely ruled himself out of the first Superbike race, which is due to take place after the restarted Supersports which organisers will attempt to run at 1.30pm.
Irwin said: “I have no interest in racing in these conditions and I will not be going in the first Superbike race - it is not my thing.
"We have had a great week and this is part of road racing.
"There is not much you can do about it. It is getting worse, but if things improve, and it dries quickly, I may race later on.”
It proved a frustrating morning for organisers.
There was also an oil spill on the track, and then the emergency services were called to deal with a faulty electrical pole along the circuit.
