North Wales hotel that shut in pandemic due to reopen after being sold

A North Wales hotel that closed during the pandemic has been sold.

Lake View Hotel in Llanberis, Gwynedd, shut during the various lockdowns and did not reopen this summer.

The site was placed on the market with estate agent Dafydd Hardy for £495,000. They described it as a "landmark property".

Now it has been bought by James Theaker and his partner - with plans to reopen the site.

They said the deal had only recently completed and more details would be released in the coming weeks.

The 10 bedroom hotel stands in a prominent position just off a winding section of the A4086 that leads into the village.

Originally a row of slate workers' cottages it has since been converted and much enlarged and extended.

Estate agent Dafydd Hardy said: “We’re pleased to have successfully sold this well known hotel in Llanberis for the previous owners, during what has been a difficult time for so many in the industry.

"We look forward to its reopening and the jobs it will bring to those in the local area.”
