A leading hospitality operator in North Wales is confident that business will boom following next week’s legislation changes.
Llangollen based One Hundred Knights anticipates soaring sales as national studies point to a significant economic bounce back.
Firms in the hospitality sector have though been demanding clarity on the trading guidelines in Wales ahead of indoor opening on Monday.
The business, responsible for the operation and running of Tyn Dwr Hall, The Three Eagles and The Royal Hotel, has already been inundated with bookings.
“We can’t wait to welcome our customers back inside,” said operations director Adam Gaunt Evans.
“Not only do we have a safe and newly renovated space but we also have a new menu and exciting calendar of events to come.
“The support of our customers throughout this crisis has been heart warming.”
The brighter outlook reflects the easing of lockdown curbs amid a mass vaccination program as well as the expectation that consumers will unleash a spending spree this summer.
A study by the Centre for Economic and Business Research has predicted that savers will unlock more than a quarter of £192bn in funds this year. More than £300m of that is expected to be spent in the hospitality sector, with an added boom in celebrations.
Wedding venue Tyn Dwr Hall, in Llangollen, is hopeful that May’s Welsh Government update will bring legislation around wedding celebrations in line with England and Scotland’s recovery roadmap.
Owner and managing director for the group, Matt Jones, said: “COVID-19 has brought its challenges for our group of businesses, but our outlook remains positive.
