North Lanarkshire Council has confirmed its school term and holiday dates for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Pupils will return to classes for the next school year on Monday, August 16 2021 – with staff having had the previous Thursday and Friday as in-service days.
The 2021 local holiday weekend is September 24-27; the week-long half-term break will begin on Monday, October 11 and an in-service day is planned for Monday, November 15.
Schools will close for next Christmas at 2.30pm on December 22 and return on Monday, January 10 2022; with holidays scheduled for February 14 and 15 and an in-service the following day.

Easter holidays in 2022 will run from schools closing on the afternoon of Friday, April 1, up to and including Easter Monday on April 18 that year, with classes resuming the following day.
May Day then falls on May 2 in and pupils will also be off on Thursday, May 5 in the same week, to allow schools to be used as polling places for the 2022 council election; while May 27-30 will also be a holiday weekend.
School will be out for summer when classes end on June 29 2022, with the holidays running until pupils’ return date on August 15 that year.
