North Lanarkshire's sports and leisure facilities are closing due to Coronavirus

North Lanarkshire leisure and culture facilities are closing their doors from the end of today (Tuesday) in line with government advice on how to reduce social contact in the Coronavirus outbreak.

All of their culture and leisure facilities will be closed for the foreseeable future, and applies to all sports and leisure facilites including gyms, swimming pools, golf courses and driving ranges, community centres and school letting, libraries, including mobile services, museums, including North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre, Motherwell Theatre and Concert Hall, Airdrie Town Hall and Bellshill Cultural Centre, community arts classes and sport development activitiy, and cafes at country parks.

All NL Leisure memberships and direct debits will be temporarily suspended automatically and there will be direct contact with members in the coming days.

A North Lanaksshire Leisure spokesperson said: "These are very challenging times for everyone and we appreciate your understanding, support and co-operation."
