North Lanarkshire Provost finds out more about work of Wishaw charity

North Lanarkshire Provost Jean Jones made her maiden visit to discover more about the work of a vital Wishaw charity.

She stopped by at the Haven, which provides support to people affected by life-limiting illness, to meet hard-working staff and volunteers.

The Provost enjoyed a tour of the busy centre and talked to staff about the programme of support provided to clients in and around Wishaw.

On her visit, she said: “I was delighted to visit the Haven Centre and see first-hand the incredible efforts they go to in helping people across Lanarkshire affected by life-limiting illnesses.

“The charity and all the staff provide vital care to people battling illness but also invaluable support to their families and loved ones.”

Karen Hendry, Client Support Worker, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Provost to The Haven.

“We were pleased to show her around our centre and were able to explain the types of support available to families.”
