North Kerala gets its first caravan park in Wayanad

Caravan tourism will give a fillip to the tourism sector in Wayanad, an emerging destination, Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas has said.

Inaugurating the first caravan park in north Kerala at the Hill District Club at Kolagappara in the district on Saturday, Mr. Riyas said the current generation considered caravan tourism as the safest for journey and accommodation.

The caravan park at Kolagappara will be upgraded to a cultural centre in the near future, the Minister said. The three-acre facility offers space for up to six large caravans to park, with individual power connections for each vehicle. Facilities for servicing the vehicles are also available.

Fun activities include zip line, fishing, beach volleyball, basketball, badminton, and indoor games. The club also boasts a 22-metre swimming pool and a restaurant.
