North East weather: Hour by hour forecast for Thursday, May 12

It's set to be a mild day in the North East with some sunny spells and a low chance of rain.

The Met Office predicts a "bright, breezy day" with cloud and a chance of rain later in the day.

The Met Office weather forecast states: "Some sunny spells Thursday morning but becoming cloudier as the day goes on with a fresh breeze. Generally dry but a few showers possible later in the day, mainly across western hills. Maximum temperature 15 °C."

Tonight scattered showers are expected to move across the region during the first half of the night before conditions turn drier by dawn.
