Fog, clouds and even heavy showers are predicted across the North East tomorrow, as all hopes of a shiny and bright weekend are off the table.
And while the grey clouds and precipitation that comes with them is forecast to clear by mid afternoon tomorrow, leading to a relatively clear night, they will return on Saturday, which once again looks to be bleak throughout.
The official weather forecast for the region on Friday is: " Fog patches and low cloud in eastern parts initially. Rain spreading east across all parts during the morning with fresh, gusty winds. Rain clearing into the afternoon, leaving sunny spells. Maximum temperature 17 °C."

Saturday through to Monday meanwhile looks to show: "Fog patches Saturday morning. Thereafter unsettled and breezy, with spells of rain and showers pushing north across the region during the period. Rain interspersed with drier, clearer periods. Mild."
